A Vision Born from Frustration

In 1995, Rick Skidmore set out to find quality exterior shutters for his own home. What he discovered was a market flooded with mass-produced, poorly crafted options that sacrificed beauty for convenience and quality for profit.

Frustrated but inspired, Rick founded Timberlane with a simple yet powerful mission: to create the finest handcrafted exterior shutters in America. He assembled a team of master craftsmen who shared his passion for excellence and his commitment to never compromising on quality.
